Coronavirus & Online Hypnotherapy
With the onset of Coronavirus, I moved my sessions with my clients online. Some of my clients had reservations and were a little nervous, especially my clients who were not used to using online facilities. Others embraced it and have stated a preference for it. All, once they have tried it have said there is barely any difference.
With no clear sign of restrictions completely lifting and accepting that the safest and most sensible option is to continue with online therapy sessions, I thought it would be helpful to give some answers to the most common questions surrounding Hypnotherapy and working online with clients. Some are obvious and some not so, however these times are unprecedented, so no question is a silly question.
Is online Hypnotherapy effective?
This is the most common query and one I’m very happy to answer. YES, it is!
Recent feedback from my clients who moved online has been very positive and has shown that their hypnotherapy sessions online with me has been as effective as having sessions face to face in my therapy room. Online you will receive the same commitment and support from me as you would if you were in my therapy room. The added bonus is that you are in the comfort of your own home so will be feeling more relaxed and at ease.
What are the benefits of Online Hypnotherapy?
· You can choose appointment times that fit around you
· There are no travel journeys to plan or added travelling time after a long day at work
· You do not need to make extra childcare arrangements
· You don’t have to live near, or in Bolton to access therapy with me
· You can wear loungewear of PJ’s if you want
· Hypnotherapy with me is accessible even if you have physical limitations
How does online therapy work?
The session format is exactly the same as face to face in my consulting room.
I use Zoom video conferencing. Zoom is one of the safest applications to use, I have been using it for several months with clients and with our Hypnotherapy students for their training course. Zoom is used internationally and there are many businesses that have moved online such as dance schools, art classes and even fitness studios.
When you book your session on my booking page you will receive a link via email with an embedded security password. Before your appointment you should download the Zoom app ( https://zoom.us ) which is free and available on a computer, tablet or mobile phone. On the day of your appointment at the allotted time you click on the link and I will be waiting for you on the video call. We will spend a few moments ensuring we can hear and see each other comfortably before we begin the session.
How should I prepare for our session?
You should choose a time that you will not be disturbed and be in a place where you feel comfortable and safe. Ensure your phone is switched off or on silent.
