Dependant habits can be distressing and debilitating, they can change your life in no time at all.
Dependency to anything would usually occur if we’re not producing the right amount of feel-good chemicals that our body and mind needs. When this happens, our mind craves any chemical it can get, whether that be alcohol, non-prescription drugs or gambling.
There is a part of the brain that is responsible for our survival and when we have a dependancy, we move into this part of our brain. To ensure we survive, it encourages us to repeat the habitual patterns of behaviour. Unfortunately, it gets it wrong as these habitual patterns of behaviour are causing distress and despair.
During the Initial Consultation I will discuss in more detail how this part of the brain is affecting you and encouraging you to behave or think in a manner that is negative and disruptive. We will also talk about the area of the mind that will help you move away and take control of your dependancy, helping you to focus and enjoy life again.
