Terms & Conditions for Hypnotherapy Supervision with Caron Iley
The aim of this Supervision Agreement is to explain the points and purpose of supervision.
This agreement clarifies the goals, expectations, roles and responsibilities of both the supervisor and the supervisee. It provides the framework for a successful supervisory relationship whilst protecting all parties involved.
Supervision is a forum where supervisees review and reflect on their work in order to improve. These confidential discussions can happen in groups or individually, face to face or over the telephone. It is a working relationship which requires regular contact between Supervisor and Supervisee with the aim to maximise the growth and development of the Supervisee to ensure they are able to offer the highest levels of competence in working with their clients.
It is acknowledged that the Supervisor is not accountable for any Supervisee’s work with clients. The Supervisee is responsible for deciding what to bring to Supervision and retains accountability for their work.
Frequency of Supervision
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and the NCH stipulate that all members need to attend a minimum of six supervision sessions per year (6 hours). However,I am keen for supervisees to attend supervision regularly, not to just tick off their six hour requirement for the year. This is especially crucial in the first twelve months after graduating.
This can be achieved in the following ways:
- Group supervision sessions (typically 2.5 – 3 hours per session)
- One to one (each session one hour in total)
- A mixture of the above
Group Supervision
Group Supervision is online unless otherwise specified. Times and dates will be communicated to supervisees via email and posted within the Facebook group with advance notice of at least one month. A zoom link will be provided within the email.
Notice of attendance of group sessions is essential so that sessions can be planned to the supervisee’s advantage.
Individual Supervision
Is available on an adhoc basic and is bookable via email to ci@havishamhypnotherapy.co.uk.
Please note: It is the responsibility of the Supervisee to keep a record and ensure their frequency of attendance meets the minimum requirements given above.
Fees and Charges:
Unlimited Group Supervision: £35 per month payable on the 1st of each month via standing order.
1-2-1 supervision (1 hour) £50 – payable on receipt of invoice.
If you miss 2 group sessions in a row we can arrange a one to one instead.
Payment
Please make payments to:
Starling: Havisham Hypnotherapy Ltd (Business account)
Sort code: 60-83-71
Account number: 49357965
(Payment on the first entitles you to supervision for that month)
Cancellation:
Notice of Cancellation for one to one sessions needs to occur at least 24 hours before the appointment. One to one support is usually held within my client hours. If cancellation of a supervision session is less than 24 hours I will unfortunately have to invoice you for the late notice.
Preparation:
Supervisees are expected to spend time before each session considering exactly what they would like to get out of their supervision session. It is their responsibility to make sure these aims are met during the time available.
It would also be helpful if you can email in advance of the group session, anything you would like added to the agenda to ci@havishamhypnotherapy.co.uk
About Caron:
I graduated as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist in June 2018 at CPHT Leeds, working part time until becoming a full time Hypnotherapist in December 2018.
I have been a Senior Lecturer for CPHT Leeds, CPHT Chester and CPHT York and will be opening a school under the SFTA banner in Manchester April 2024.
I am a member of the CNHC, NCH and AfSFH.
I run a very busy practice in Bolton, Greater Manchester seeing 20 – 25 clients per week.
I have been a winner at the Bolton Health & Wellbeing awards for 4 years in a row. For the last 4 years my practise has won Top 3 Hypnotherapy for Bolton and also Business of the Year from 3 Best Rated.
I aim to use a Solution Focused Approach to Supervision which operates from a respectful, non-expert and collaborative viewpoint focusing on the experience, strengths, resources, learning and experience of the Group and Individual Practitioners.
Code of Ethics and Confidentiality
Ethical considerations with confidentiality are assured during supervision from both the Supervisor and the Supervisee, enabling the therapeutic relationship to build through trust, openness, learning and rapport. However, there may be circumstances when confidentiality may be overridden if there are grounds to believe the safety of the client or of those surrounding the client are at risk.
Overall, the same rules as therapist-client confidentiality and its relation to the notion of “greater good” apply to the Supervisee-Supervisor relationship. Please see below for more details:
- AfSFH Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics afsfh.com/code-of-conduct-performance-and-ethics/
- NCH Code of Conduct and Ethics hypnotherapists.org.uk/about-nch/code-of-ethics/
I take my CPD as a Supervisor as seriously as I do my CPD as a Hypnotherapist. As a result, I will continue to engage in regular supervision for my supervision practice and so may discuss issues with my Supervisor. This ensures I am as effective as possible in working with my Supervisees. This is a professional relationship governed by confidentiality and supervisees will not be named in these conversations; every effort will be made to maintain their confidentiality.
Legal Responsibilities
Supervisor and Supervisee have legal liabilities to each other, to any employing organisation and above all, to their clients. This includes my taking action if I have serious concerns about a supervisee’s practice, especially where client safety is concerned as outlined above.
Changes to this Agreement:
This agreement may be subject to change from time to time. The Supervisee will be notified via email if any changes occur.
