My name is Caron Iley, I am an award winning Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and a Senior Lecturer at SFTA. I’m also an NCH qualified Solution Focused Supervisor, providing individual or group supervision online or in person.

My journey into hypnotherapy began with an unexpected anxiety attack while simply making the bed! This incident led me to the emergency room, experiencing chest pains and difficulty breathing. Initially, the doctors suspected a heart attack. To my surprise, I was later diagnosed with anxiety, even though I hadn’t felt particularly anxious at the time.

I’m no stranger to anxiety. I spent a decade struggling with infertility, undergoing a range of treatments that included invasive surgeries and tests, ultimately culminating in numerous rounds of IVF. This period was immensely stressful and distressing, and for the majority of those years, I was firmly ensnared in my negative thought patterns.

Fortunately, during one visit to my GP, he suggested Mindfulness. After extensive research and conversations with a friend who also struggled with anxiety, I discovered Solution Focused Hypnotherapy – a turning point I’ve never regretted.

The essence of SFH lies in its ability to address a wide array of mental health challenges such as anxiety, symptoms of low mood, and confidence issues. It aims to help you reflect on the positive aspects of your life, which are easily overshadowed in the whirlwind of our daily routines. This is especially crucial when we find ourselves overwhelmed with negativity and struggling to find a way forward.

Using a variety of tools and working together with you, we literally change your mindset, rewiring the brain to change your habit from thinking in a negative way to a positive way. This helps you to calm your mind and restore your confidence. Ultimately enabling you to feel in control of life again.

Away from work I love long country walks with my little sidekicks Princess Lola and her new sister Lexie. I love playing golf, reading, socialising with friends, blue skies and sunshine and of course, precious family time with my husband and grown-up daughter. I try to practice what I preach but I’m not perfect, I love my job and sometimes a long day in the therapy room doesn’t feel like work and I must remind myself to have some me time.

My journey as a Hypnotherapist has been exciting and fulfilling. I feel very grateful to have found this path after several other careers helping people in varying ways. I always say to my clients ‘even if you don’t feel like leaving the house to attend your session, remember you will always leave the session feeling better than when you walked in.
So far not one client has disagreed.

Watching clients leave therapy with a smile on their face is more rewarding than any awards or accolades I have been honoured to receive. For the last four years, I have been honoured to win at the Bolton Health and Wellbeing Awards in the category for Mental Health Coach/Mentor and Inspirational woman. My practise has won Top 3 Hypnotherapist in Bolton for the last 4 years. While I did not set out to win awards, I am extremely proud that it is my clients that have supported these nominations because of the positive experiences they have had with me at Havisham Hypnotherapy.

My devotion to Solution Focused techniques extends beyond benefiting just my clients. In early 2020, I took on the role of Senior Lecturer at the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School, where I had the privilege of training individuals on their journey to becoming proficient Solution Focused Hypnotherapists. Then, in February 2021, I studied and passed my level 5 and became an NCH accredited supervisor, providing support, mentorship and encouragement to other Solution Focused therapists in their practice.

My passion for Solution Focused work continues and in April 2024 I will be opening a Hypnotherapy training school in Manchester with SFTA (Solution Focused Training Academy). This course is dynamic and innovative. We will be training our students to not just become Solution Focused Hypnotherapists but to also practise Sf Mindfulness and SF Walking Therapy. Our students will graduate with a practise in place, fully proficient and confident in just six months.

“There are no words for how rewarding being a hypnotherapist is – watching clients literally turning their lives around, overcoming negative thoughts and helping them to be the person they recognise again; happy and enjoying life.

I am passionate and completely enthusiastic about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy – I will do everything I can to help you feel like you again!”
